Meet Tim…

Tim Higginson (BSc, M.Ost – Osteopath) is a dedicated and highly motivated osteopath with a strong sporting background and a deep understanding of the human body. As a former national swimmer and competitor in numerous sports, Tim applies firsthand experience of training and injury management to the demands of working life. He has a particular interest in nutrition and the important role it plays in the body’s ability to maintain its function.

Tim has a particular interest in the body’s adaptation to repeated mechanical stress and how sustained movement patterns, occupational demands, and training loads can contribute to dysfunction and pain. He recognises that everybody’s needs are specific to their lifestyle and endeavours. Through detailed assessment and examination, he can identify specific contributing factors leading to dysfunction on an individual basis. Tim is keen to help each patient understand why something is happening and what they can do themselves once they leave the treatment room.

Using a variety of techniques including soft tissue massage, joint manipulation, rehabilitation exercises, and movement retraining, Tim works not only to relieve pain but also to optimise function and prevent recurrence. His treatments are individualised, combining clinical expertise with clear guidance so patients feel confident managing their recovery.

Tim has experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
• Tendinopathies
• Intervertebral disc herniations
• Acute injuries and injury management
• Lateral and medial epicondylitis (tennis/golfers elbow)
• Lumbar spine pain and sciatica (lower back)
• Spinal facet joint irritation
• Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
• Rotator cuff dysfunction
• Plantar fasciitis

As well as this, he is a Level 3 Sports Massage therapist who can provide pre- and post-event therapy should you require this to complement your osteopathic treatment.

Whether you’re an athlete looking to optimise performance or wanting to move pain-free in everyday life, Tim provides professional, evidence-informed care tailored to your needs.
